Saratoga is probably for the Travers race, Nova Scotia for the total eclipse of the sun.

You’re right. I looked up the lyrics and it says:

Well I hear you went up to Saratoga
And your horse naturally won
Then you flew your lear jet up to Nova Scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun

I got confused because Saratoga and Nova Scotia were in the same verse. :)
