I was depressed enough and now I’m told I’m all alone. How much more can I take? Thanks Elon.
He is obviously one of THEM...
Agreed
Or they are so far away or so different from us it’s the same thing—alone.
ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS EXCEPT
CLOWN WORLD
ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE
Tell him to go down to the border. Tens of thousands a day are coming through
I think he has this wrong. Sitings have been increasing.
How does he explain James Carville?
Why are all the ones people claim to see grey with bobble-heads Oh wait Earth VS the flying Saucers(1956)
In a finite Universe (at least one with a beginning) SOMEONE has to be the first. So far, we are the only ones we know of, so, unless someone actually does show up, we’re it for now.
Some tough love there.
I think there are times when even someone of high intellect and achievements like Elon just desires a fresh new wave of attention from the media. IOW; Vanity.
“Everybody’s talking about me.
I can’t see their faces.
Only the shadows of their eyes!”
Totally agree.
We are not alone, perhaps our closest neighbors are not so close; But we are not completely alone.
Interstellar distances are so huge it’s impossible to tell.
We’ve only been broadcasting for a century or so.
A civilization is even only a few thousand light-years away and answers, that’s multiple thousands of years. Will our civilization still be around to reply?
Probably alone? No, we absolutely ARE alone, to the extent that if intelligent, self-aware life exists elsewhere in the universe (which it almost certainly does), we will never know of its existence, or they of ours. The distances are simply too great.
The double problem with space aliens is first distance and second, time. The distances in space are ginormous, and not at all easy to travel.
However, the time problem is also daunting. That is, our galaxy is about 12-26 Billion years old. Lots of time there for intelligent species to evolve and collapse. There could have been thousands of such species. But only if they evolved *very* close to us, within the last 150 or so years ago, is there a chance we might meet.
Think about it.
If aliens are zipping around the spheres effortlessly, Musk and his Star Factory are manufacturing carriages and buggy whips, in essence.
