Yep, that was rough up there. We owned Camp Muir/Hill 55 until March of 1970 when it was handed to ARVNs. I left the bush and was assigned to Security Company, HqBn, 1 MarDiv., outside Danang until rotation.

When I was in high school, that tune made just about every slow dance selection and meant that you got close to the girl you were with.
It’s interesting, but this song was one of my least favorites from the band. I didn’t really care for it and then the radio stations played it to death as was done in those days
“Whiter Shade of Pale” was always great, and reminds me of my long lost youth. This one with the orchestra in Denmark sets a new value for excellence.
I agree about the long list youth. It’s always amazing what deep feelings certain music can bring out.
