Who changed the Sabbath? Is a question asked today By. honest hearted people who seek to know the way.· Not I, Chimed the Church of England bell; It must have been-ah, well, I can not say, Just who did change the Sabbath day.

Who changed the Sabbath, The fourth command, so deep and, broad, Fixed by the firm decree, Of the eternal God.. Not I, Rang out" the Methodist bell; The Bible, it must be, will tell, I can not say, .' But think that Jesus changed the day.

Who changed the, Sabbath~,- An institution well designed, To keep the Creator's work in mind, Not .I, Came a sound from another steeple, Don't charge that Sin to the Baptist people, We only say ". It makes no difference about the day.

Who changed' the Sabbath, That day of holy rest. Which God not only sanctIfied, but 'blessed? Not I, Rang out in lusty tones a bell; I have no faith in Sabbaths, or in a burning hell, Don't dare to say The Congregationalists e'er changed, the' day.

Who changed the Sabbath;- The day that Christ adored And said 'twas made' for man, And he its Lord; The day the Marys kept, While Christ lay in the tomb; The day the disciples spent In their 'own upper room; The day which martyred hosts, Observed 'mid scorn and ,Jeers, - , On which they sealed their faith . With earnest cries and tears; The day that now is kept By many to theIr loss; By noble men who bear, The burden of the cross?

You have the freedom in America to believe and worship as you choose.

I wish you the best, even though I think it is incorrect.

Constantine??? Not really - Christians had been celebrating Christ’s victory on the first day of the week for over 300 years - he just gave Christians the day off to celebrate it.

By the way - - the 10 commandments were fulfilled (completed) in Christ, thus their obedience (works) are no longer a condition for salvation. Faith in Jesus, however, is.

No body changed the Sabbath.
It’s still there as observed by Jews.
It wasn’t given to Gentiles, ever. In fact, since the old Covenant was removed and the new Covenant was established, it’s not used. Or valid.
Jeremiah told everyone it would happen, and the author of Hebrews clearly confirmed that it happened. Along with the Apostles, the Elders of the Church in Jerusalem, etc.

In a nutshell, God changed the Covenant, as He was and is able to.

That is some real heavy duty indoctrination there. The Sabbath was started at creation (hint no Jews yet), given again at Mt. Sinai (Moses was Hebrew), followed throughout the Bible as permanent and a sign of Gods people and God (you want to be one of Gods people don't you?). Rev. 14:12 It will be kept in Heaven by those who kept the faith and His Commandments.
Not much room for those who did NOT keep Gods Commandments. His House, His Rules.

>>>Isaiah 66

Don’t see a sabbath connection there.

“The whole earth is at rest” (somewhere in Isaiah)>>>

Isaiah 66 includes a prophecy of the new earth restored. Revelation says God is going to recreate the earth after he burns up this one. So what will we do here on the new earth. Besides planting our own vineyards, building our own homes, we will long enjoy the work of our hands....(Isaiah 65).......

Isaiah 66:

“For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,
“So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.

“this command was never repeated in the NT unlike the other commands”

Maybe because Peter, Paul and the other disciples didn’t think they had to say anything about it, that the Sabbath was understood and kept.

Exactly. There was no controversy about which day to keep. My, how times and laws have changed.

No problem brother. I think God invites all of us to experience the peace and blessing of the weekly Sabbath day experience. He made it for man. He promises a blessing to all who keep from stepping on it. He will cause us to ride high.

Virtually every Christian I know that decides to give the Sabbath day a try ends up wondering why they never experienced before. I get to turn off the TV. It is a sanctuary in time, a window to eternity. A secular interruption that reminds me to reconnect with my creator and redeemer. Jesus performed miracles on the Sabbath for a reason. To show what it was for.....healing. Both physical and spiritual.

He enraged the religious authorities who had perverted God’s weekly holy day blessing. The weekly holy sabbath from Friday to Saturday is divine rest for human restlessness.

The reason the Sabbath is in the moral law of the 10 commandments, not the Mosaic ceremonial in a book.....but in stone, written and spoken by God is because the Sabbath reveals the authority of the moral law giver. Lord, God, Creator of heaven and earth. All in that single 4th commandment. His badge of authority.

From Genesis to Revelation, God’s unique seal or sign for his people in a pagan heathen Godless world. Sabbath keeping men and women.

The most illustrious group of people whoever lived in earth’s history were Sabbath keepers. From Adam, to Enoch, to Abraham to Moses to Daniel to the prophets, to Peter, John, James, to Paul and standing at the head of that group....Christ Jesus. The Lord of the Sabbath who said it was made for man.

Jesus was not made.......he is not the Sabbath day. He made the Sabbath. It is a creation. It is a noun. Something “made” ....and it is his holy day....for us.

I invite you to give it a try. To set aside Friday nite to Saturday nite....to come apart before you come apart. God’s answer to stress. It has never changed, it will never change and all the turning and twisting of texts will not change one jot or tittle of the moral law.

to say Jesus fulfilled the law thus doing away with the Sabbath laughable. Did he do away with adultery, with killing, with stealing....it’s bizarre.

The Protestant Reformers would have never believed today’s dispensationalism. They upheld the 10 commandments including the 4th commandment. They kept the wrong day but in the right way and I believe God honored that. It was the light they had. The Sabbath will be an end time issue. It will be an element of the mark of the beast .....that is, those who keep God’s commandments will not take the mark of the beast.

Thank you and bless you ....

The argument is that the New Covenant did away with Sabbath keeping and "works". Jesus said right off of the bat 17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished."
So why does the whole world worship on Sunday?
2 Thess. 2: 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Spot on. the Sabbath is a huge issue in the end. Revelation is about “worship” it’s about deception, and it’s about God’s law. A counterfeit as in mark of the beast....or the creator.

Sunday is being exalted more and more....even climate changers want sunday laws. Imagine when the whole world is imploding. The church won’t even have to call for Sunday laws. The people will demand them.

Who changed Passover to Friday?
Who changed Unleavened Bread to Saturday?
Who changed First Fruits to Sunday?

Who changed Paul’s first importance of the gospel?

Get the answers to those, then it’s not a matter of changing days, but deceiving the whole world..

And the Bible tells us who does that..

Unless one recognizes Rome, the Papacy as the great false apostate spiritual superpower that took away the daily, that persecuted the saints, the ruled for 1260 years, just as prophecied, as speaks great blasphemy like saying she can absolve sins and is God on earth, she sets herself up in the temple of God, she attempted to change set times and law....(that’s sabbath to Sunday)......she makes the nations drunk with the wine of her abominations, her false doctrines, her intolerance, ........unless one recognizes it is she who suffered a temporary wound when Napolean took her captive in 1798, the said wound has healed and once again, this mother of harlots is gaining world influence, as her daughter reach out to her and join her......take away the secular powers that retrain her and she would immediately resort to the force she employed for 1260 years .......and finally, contemplate this.......

She hates the Sabbath because it rebukes her authority....Sunday is the mark of her authority as she claims the authority to change God’s holy law in stone..the law Jesus said would not change one jot or tittle......the law the holy law that is so immutable, Christ had to die to make an atonement for it’s trangression......

Unles one realizes who this great pretender is.....and her mission and how Satan works through her to deceive the world.......one will never understand prophecy. All dispensationalist eyes are on Israel which has no relevance whatsover to prophecy......Rome is who the reformers recognized as the beast power of Revelation 13......and they were right. Amen.

Sunday is coming...and the world will bow.

If one loves God, they will keep His commandments, including His Sabbath. Conversely, if they hate God (whether they admit to it or not), His commandments will not be kept and they will go out of their way to break them, and teach others the same. Why would they keep something that they say doesn’t apply to Christians in the first place? These “Christians” have unknowingly chosen loyalty to Satan. No two ways about it.

Eccl 12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Those who believe in OSAS/OJAJ have no concept of the true meaning of Grace, in that it does NOT excuse the keeping of God’s law.

#6 of common objections for not keeping the Sabbath:

“As Christians, we are under grace and thus aren’t supposed to keep the Sabbath.”
Answer: Think about this; Acts 13:42-44 says a congregation of Gentiles were gathered together on the Sabbath day to listen to Paul’s preaching. More than this, they all came back the next Sabbath to hear more. But did you notice Paul did not tell them to come back on Sunday instead of Saturday because they were “under grace”? As a matter of fact, in the city of Corinth, for a year and a half, Paul taught “in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks” (Acts 18:4-11). Why were non-Jews going to the synagogue on the sabbath day, if Sunday was their day?

Furthermore, Paul specifically upheld God’s Law and said it was applicable to all bondservants of Christ (Romans 3:31, I Corinthians 7:19). He also said that being under grace does not give us a license to sin (Romans 6:15). Paul also said that God’s Law is “holy, righteous and good” (Romans 7:12).

So why would Christians twist his words to mean that being “under grace” gives them a license to break God’s fourth commandment by substituting some other day for the 7th day? Would Sunday keeping Christians use the very same logic and say that being “under grace” means they can break God’s sixth commandment: “You shall not murder?” Did God say, “You shall not murder except when you are under grace?” No. Being “under grace” simply means the blood of Christ has forgiven us and we are no longer under the condemnation of the Law - it does not mean we are free to sin by disobeying God.

For Jews, Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday.
Jesus was discovered to have risen from the dead on Sunday morning, so I’d say that’s why Sunday is the day of rest for Christians.
