Has anyone else noticed that Youtube is at it again, trying to block users who use an adblocker? The past several days have been hit and miss. About the only way I've been able to get around it is one of two ways:
1. to save videos to Watch Later, close the browser, then reopen the browser to view them, or
2. delete all cookies and cache and then log back in.
But either of these two fixes are temporary because it happens almost every day now. Has anyone seen this, and have a newer fix for this?
Thanks.
YouBoob offers nothing you can’t live without. If the ads bother you that much, break your addiction to YouBoob.
Duck Duck Go browser has a special player for YT that bypasses the ads. You can copy and paste there anytime YT white screens you.
It’s a continual game of whack-a-mole between ad-blocker updates and yootoob algorithms for users of Firefox etc, and as mentioned upthread, Brave is an excellent browser for privacy and built-in ad blocking.
Brave browser plus Proton VPN. I have no problems, no ads. The occasional “prove you’re human” (to a bot LOL) while the VPN is running if I click an outside link to get to a Youtube video, but never an issue if I am on the Youtube site watching videos.
YouTube is totally worth it.

YouTube Premium, that is
Rumble
“Ads are their revenue. Basically you want to steal their product.”
Cry me a river.
Once they got into the censorship business it was my pleasure to rip them off any which way I can.
I use Firefox on my Mac. With Adblock plus I see no adds.
“YouTube is totally worth it.”
Definitely! It has a wide and deep variety of content. Free with ads or pay to go ad-free. Ah ... 1st world problems.
I use Brave with their native ad blockers. Works fine.
4k video downloader works great!
I use Brave and most videos now have a black screen for 15 or so seconds until I can skip the ad. Once I start a video, there’s no ads. It’s weird.
I have that and I use it often. I just hate to have to resort to that every time I want to watch a video, and I have at least 4 different adblockers on my computer!
Yep.
I don’t pay ransom subscriptions on principle.
Pay money to Gaagle? That'll happen as soon as I learn to juggle flaming chainsaws while ice skating.
Try this.
I used on my machine, and it worked. You get about 1 second of each ad and they’re gone. I guess that makes YT think the ad played for you (which it did, just not the whole thing!).
My feeling as well. If there were a good way to flip them the giant double middle finger as I did it, I would do that too.
I despise Google and YouTube. I wish them total and utter bankruptcy.
