Billy Mitchell, Wernher von Braun, and Hyman Rickover collectively made isolationism suicidally stupid.

Our entire “nuclear triad” system of deterrence is based on their creations but their work also gave America’s enemies the capability to annihilate our cities from thousands of miles outside the US. And all you need do to create mortal enemies is to be top dog.

Particularly in the 21st Century world, we already have unavoidable foreign entenglements due to the uneven geographic distribution of strategically-critical natural resources. Not to be engaged abroad would be to fall behind in the capabilities those resources support.

The “yellow cake” for Little Boy came from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The titanium for the A-12/SR-71 came from the USSR itself. Key ingredients for touch-screens and jet engine impellers comes from OCONUS.

At the risk of getting all misty-eyed, sometimes you gotta get by with a little help from your friends. And not everybody is going to like everything you do, especially when they’re think you’ve set out to dominate the planet.

And if the USSR or any other commie nation were the sole nuke super power then they would subjugate the world. But the Woke warriors want to ideologically do that.
