I’m so sorry.

I have always had reservations about vaccinating. I remember very clearly when an older vet from Florida joined the vet hospital I take my pups to. Both of my girls at that time had cancer. One had a confirmed tumor on her pituitary gland and had cushings disease and my second beauty had a nasty tumor on her shoulder. Both around 13yrs. Well this new to the hospital vet and I did not get along well - his personality and mine clashed but I really felt he was a great vet otherwise and my girls liked him and that mattered to me. I would always insist that blood be drawn with me present, etc and he got annoyed. At one of our appts the discussion of- time to vaccinate - came up. I expressed deep concern about giving my girls any more vaccines since they both had cancer. I thought it was going to be another argument with him. He understood that my cushings girl was also under the care of another vet, a specialist in the field, up at Tufts and so he had to give in to some things for her care.

But to my complete and utter shock he closed the door and very quietly said to me that if my dogs were his he would not ever vaccinate them again. He said “it’s like pouring gasoline on a fire” since they were already battling cancer. Well I must say he had my complete respect after that. We had a completely different relationship from that point forward and it was great. He eventually left the hospital though and went back to Florida and so his wisdom has been missed.

My girls passed away several years after that but the memory of what he said to me that day has stuck with me for decades. I don’t believe the vaccines are safe. Since I am really the only advocate for my dogs I fight to do right by them and all this crap these vets push I think for the most part hurts them. Every dog I have had has had cancer in one form or another too. I think these vets know the harm that these shots can do and I find it disgusting when they try to say that the vaccines do no harm. The evidence shows otherwise.
