Wow, that is certainly an eye-opener, Faith. I had my poor pup jabbed annually and she hated every visit to the vet. But the question is…where do you find one that refuses to push this stuff?

Last night I watched the first episode of “Chernobyl.” Wow…on the edge of my seat through the whole thing. Anyone else watched it? The Soviet delusion was such a full-on unmitigated disaster…and I can see us heading down the same road.

IDK. Maybe a holistic vet.

I used to reluctantly have them vaccinated almost annually too until they both got cancer. Then it stopped. My vet wrote to the state for exemptions because they were sick and the exemptions were granted. But I only had him do that to register my girls. I could care less now about the town registration. They can GFT as far as I’m concerned. My dogs health means everything to me. My current rescue has copper storage disease and I really believe she got sick in part because she was given 2 rabies shots within 3 months of each other back in 2018 - 1 from the kill shelter and 1 from the rescue that got her. Stupid! Theres no way that that hasn’t impacted her health. I wish now that I had driven the 10 hours down south to get her from the kill shelter when I first saw her but work got in the way. Next thing I knew a rescue had pulled her and she ended up being transported up north and landed just 35 minutes from my vacation rental. So I knew it was meant to be!!!!

The specialist my rescue girl sees now does not like what the gov requires. He wants dogs on all homemade food if possible. He wants them on supps with their meds. I really like him and he has saved my girl from dying early. No one knew what was wrong with her and her liver and so I hunted for a liver specialist. He told me at her first appt he thought it was copper storage disease as it is becoming an epidemic due to the synthetic copper being put in all commercial dog food. He did a liver biopsy on her a couple months later and it was confirmed. I had never heard of csd before. Even though he is at one of the best university vet hospitals in the country and well known, he is very down to earth as is his staff and he really loves dogs - that is so evident. SO there are vets out there that are good and do really care - you just have to search for them. It’s not easy though!

I should have stated before too that I do pray for my dogs and their health and well-being and protection to keep them safe. I love them and want them to be around with me a loooonnnngggg time!!

My best suggestion, if you are near a rural area where there are prize cattle, horses, etc... look for a large animal vet who will see small animals from time to time.

That is where I ended up years ago, because the small animal vets wouldn’t take my 2 Belgian Malinois because I fed them raw meaty bones. I had actually tried 5 different small animal practices in my county before trying the large animal vet who treated the farmers and ranchers dogs and barn cats once a week, first come first serve. . . Cars and Pickups would be lined up on his driveway, modest little office, on that day.

When I asked him about the raw, he smiled at me, and told me that all he advised was not to let them eat the fur off road kill, since that would probably plug them up.

He doesn’t tend to vaccinate except for what was required by state law after a certain point, and would run titers if we wanted to check to see if the pert’s immunities were still high enough for protection.

After a certain age, he didn’t even suggest vaccination, and he whispered to me last visit that he hoped I hadn’t taken the jab, as he hadn’t.

He doesn’t sell dog food, and other stuff either, and will let you take a pet home to recover as soon as they are safely out from under anesthesia. He isn’t in it for the money, but because he loves animals, and wants to do right by them.
