When I was a teenager in Jacksonville, there was a small, square park right in the middle of downtown. Can’t remember the name and don’t know if it’s even still there, but the joke was it was going to be renamed because of all the homos hanging out there to ‘Peter Sellers Park’............
I think your referring to Hemming Plaza/park......of course they changed the name recently to some black guy nobody ever heard of that was born here in 1871 no less, because you know......racism. 😏
In Chelmsford, MA there was a rest area on Rt 3 that was a meet up place for homo men back in the 1980s.
A buddy of mine found out this fact when he stopped to actually use the bathroom on a road trip. He was literally approached by two different men going into and out of the bathroom wondering IF he was looking for some action?
We teased him about it for years.
