Side note. Juvenal had it incorrect.

He thought Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) did not even exist. Black Swans existed in abundance circa 100 AD - in Australia.

They're a species of Least Concern today.

His assumptions were incorrect because -he- and the scientific community at the time had rarely observed them in their fields of travel. But they existed - and in plentiful numbers.

I think Taleb has it correct. So did SECDEF Rumsfeld ("Unknown unknowns"). I can imagine what some people would do today if they saw a live Black Swan.

Still not a peep from anyone on the bridge of the ship. Why are the people who KNOW what happened, even if they’re lying about what happened being kept incommunicado?

I’m surprised there are no pictures or names of the pilots that were at the stern of the barge! Something stinks here. Can you say cover-up!

I think it was just an accident. But some people have postulated that it was an attack....

And that’s a possibility with someone hacked the computer systems of the ship....

Most people don’t realize the ships nowadays are constantly online via the satellite internet.

I used to work for IT security company that were actually installing firewalls out on ships

So yes, there are as vulnerable as any other infrastructure.
