These decisions are made by people in positions that are operating way past their competency level, and have been for some time. Thus, policies that get leaders plaudits for DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion), “climate awareness” or “antiracism” score them social points that improve their position, even as they damage the institutions they’re responsible for.
