This product of Berry Gordy's Motown diskery should have been a big hit, but it spent only a week "bubbling under the Billboard Hot 100 in the early fall of 1966 before disappearing. Sadly, it didn't make the playlist of Boss Radio 93 KHJ, my go-to station at the time. However, it's been discovered by Internet surfers in this century.

From back when California was worth dreaming about, now it’s just a nightmare. When California had two Republican US Senators (although Tom Kuchel was what what we now call a RINO) and, during the later years, a Republican governor and a GOP-controlled State Assembly. San Francisco also had a Republican governor in the early part of the decade, and LA's Democrat mayor was more conservative than most Republicans. Despite the heavy smog, which has long since disappeared, California had the world's hottest economy, and I couldn't imagine wanting to live anywhere else.

Time Won't Let Me · The OutsidersSonny Geraci, was a one-hit wonder with two bands. He also sang on Climax' "Precious and Few".

How about this one? "Hold On, I'm Coming" - Sam & Dave I'm glad President Trump chose that as his theme song. In 1982, I saw Sam Moore perform this live (Dave had passed on).

She definitely DID become a druggie. As part of her community service, she came to my school in 8th grade. Her talk went well until the question time, when Henrik, a Danish exchange student, asked her about how the North Vietnamese defeated the U.S. by dropping drugs on us during the war.

My favorite part of this 60's song is when Paul McCartney does his "1-2-3-4!" count off, at the beginning of the song. (Youtube song poster used a couple different videos here.)

George Young of the Easybeats was a legend of Aussie rock and a big influence on his little brothers - Malcolm and Angus. Watched a documentary about Vanda and Young recently. Probably the biggest hit they produced was "Love Is In The Air".

Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies is my favorite song by the Association. It got a lot of airplay on Boss Radio 93 KHJ in the fall of '66 but hasn't made the Oldies playlists and seems to have been largely forgotten.

"Sailor" was a hit in England in 1961, but I don't think it charted in this country. The original version was a big hit in the US toward the end of 1960. Interestingly, the singer is from Austria, which has no seacoast.
