Thank God the jet design still included thrust reversers. I recall a push by some to eliminate thrust reversers to save weight as the braking systems had improved so much that thrust reversers weren’t needed. Not needed until they are.
Note that this was a maintenance problem and not Boeing’s fault. Tech reconnected hoses wrong..............
