A year or more ago, was waiting to leave the gate for a Southwest flight from hawaii to Arizona.
Waited and waited.
Finally the pilot got on the intercom and ammounced they were waiting for some replacement maintenance supervisor to show up and sign off on the plane as ready to fly. Took a couple hours, but at least they were serious about the aircraft being certified.
Still wonder at the delayed sign-off and wht SW did about it.

Those are car mechanics who break something after doing an oil change to make extra cash.
