A devastated mother has claimed her 16-year-old daughter died after being badly beaten by bullies at her California high school.
Shaylee Mejia, 16, collapsed just days after she was attacked inside a bathroom at Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles.
Video of the incident on March 5 shows the teenage girl having her hair dragged and hitting her head against a stall before she fell down. Numerous punches are exchanged by the girls involved in the fighting throughout the brawl.
Mejia's mother, Maria Juarez, said her daughter complained about headaches for several days but continued to attend school before she went to a party the following Saturday night, according to KTLA.
Mejia suffered a hemorrhage due to brain injuries and collapsed while at the party. She was rushed to hospital but never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead on March 15.
'Everybody knows about my daughter hitting her head, the teachers too,' Juarez said. 'Everybody knows.'
Mejia did not tell her mother about the fight because she didn't want her to worry or take time off from work.
The incident was captured on video by other students and it shows the young girl being viciously beaten while others stand and watch.
Mejia said her daughter was suffering from headaches in the days following the horrific attack but still went to school.
But, she later fainted at the party and a friend said that she fell down and stopped talking, Juarez said.
The teen was taken to the hospital and heartbreaking photos show her lying in a hospital bed on a ventilator.
She died six days later, on March 15, and her mother believes her daughter died from severe injuries she sustained in the bathroom fight.

“It’s them again, isn’t it?”
“It’s always them.”
Sending your children to public schools is Russian Roulette
need to sue everyone involved for millions, and if they proclaim their innocence then sue them for billions for defamation since that is the new law in America now.
Biden’s America where girls are raped flashed and beaten in school washrooms.
“These kids need to be tried for murder as adults”
Yes, we need MASSIVE change in how these perps are charged and tried.
Of course, society is collapsing all over the place and it’s probably too late to solve this in the judicial system. The problem is way upstream in the Godless culture.
Every country in the West is past the point of useless lawsuits.
We need Our Own Homeland !
[These kids]
I have to ask........or do I not need to ask?
Schools in the hellhole democrats created...
To do this, we need to have real American Attorneys General, real American Judge, and sufficient numbers of courts, prisons, and executioners.
It's California. Doubt this will happen.
Sad story.
Prayers for her family. 🙏
Yep, without all that, they will merely continue until eradicated.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
From the video it looks like she was fighting another Hispanic girl.
That area is a known rathole..either she got beat up by blacks or Mexicans, either way, just horrible for the family..the murderers should be tried for murder
The new law seems to be that the parents of the thugs can be tried, convicted, and sent to prison, as long as they knew their teenager had a temper. (At least in Michigan and so long as they are not exempt for racial preference reasons.)
If only we had common sense toilet laws this wouldn’t happen!
You shouldn't send your children to public schools unless you live somewhere like Jackson Hole, Wyoming or Martha's Vinyard, Massachusetts.
