All we hear about from the left is how great rappers, DEI prosecutors, and welfare dependent feral blacks are. They never mention men like Ben Carson, Tim Scott, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas who earned their positions by hard work intelligence and initiative.

The true core of the black community is unknown by most white people due to lack of contact and because of political propaganda and media distortion.

For example, Melvin, a late friend of mine in Tallahassee was a staunchly conservative Korean War veteran. Through a part-time job in retirement, he got to know several black small businessmen well and became friends with them. Since Melvin missed the Southern blue collar cooking he grew up on, they invited him to their Saturday morning breakfast at the soul food bistro in the heart of Tallahassee's traditional black commercial district.

Melvin got stares that day when he first walked in and was the only white person in the place. He was served though with pleasantries and smiles at the table with his black friends. Their topic of conservation was how bad Obama was. Welcomed as a regular after that, Melvin was awarded by his friends and proudly wore a ball cap with the slogan "Honorary Black Man."

As Margaret Thatcher used to say, "The facts of life are conservative." As with most Americans, the facts of life anchor most black people to conservative values in their own lives. Unfortunately, as on college campuses, the tug of Leftist and Democrat party propaganda draws the majority of blacks to the Left politically.

Nevertheless, the handful of conservative blacks we know about and admire are actually better grounded in the experience of ordinary black people than the racial grievance types whom we constantly hear about in the news media and from Democratic politics.

To Trump's great credit, his unusual personality, his rhetoric, issue choice, and success as president now give him a strong appeal to many conservative blacks and other minorities and to the white working class. The 2024 election may well be a realignment election in which a new Republican Party emerges and becomes dominant based on voters whom Trump has brought into the fold. The GOP country club is about to have the doors blown open.
