It’s not the kind of involvement with health care that is ruining the system. It’s simply for providing for the healthcare of those you were responsible for getting injured in the first place.
There’s a world of difference between providing for medical care for your own soldiers, and (mis) managing health care like Medicare, Medicaid, and obamacare, and setting costs. That MUST stop. but providing for someone who was injured in the line of duty does NOT destroy our health care system like the socialize medicine kind does.

Government has not only an interest, but also a responsibility in supporting the health and welfare of its citizens. You said never, except for this one area, and I agree.
Pretty sure if a reasonable discussion on the topic were to be had, we could find more exceptions.
