You’re arguing with me over points I didn’t make.
Government has not only an interest, but also a responsibility in supporting the health and welfare of its citizens. You said never, except for this one area, and I agree.
Pretty sure if a reasonable discussion on the topic were to be had, we could find more exceptions.
Except you DID make the point that the government should not be involved in health care at all.
In post 44 I asked this: "So you think that men and women who are wounded in the line of duty should not be cared for by the government that put them in the situation where they got wounded in the first place?"
And in post 45 you answered it with "Nope."
You could not have been more clear. No medical care for military personnel by the government.
So following your position to its logical conclusion, there should no medical care for the military by military doctors, medics, field hospitals, etc. Nor any medical hospitals or doctors or medics in the first place.
If someone gets injured in their service, sucks to be them. It's then their responsibility to find and pay for medical care themselves. Too bad for the guy who lost a leg from an IED. I'm sure there's some village witch doctor nearby who could save his life.
