Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) refers to the stuff they inject into you before you get an MRI that lodges in any heart tissue that is inflamed, damaged, or scarred (enhancement) but bounces off of healthy heart tissue and washes out of your system. So finding LGE positive scarring is highly predictive of terrible, awful, no good, highly bad things. Expect to hear much more about this.
