My nephew's wife faces the same dilemma. Nephew hates goats. Absolutely no idea why. BUT . . . she's been steadily working on him, and he's beginning to come around. She emphasizes the health benefits (and, some say, the superior taste) of goat milk, cheese made from goat milk, and of course the ready supply of meat.
So that may be a good starting for your own situation. :-)
