Let’s all take a deep breath, and think about the long-term results of Judge McAfee‘s opinion versus what the knee-jerk thinking is among the conservative podcasters.
In my opinion, this may very well be a big win for Trump and the other defendants. For one thing, if Fanny stays on the case, that means she will need to answer questions regarding not only her indiscretions, lies, and other prosecutorial irregularities., She will also have to respond to why she went to DC and met with the Biden administration, Kamala Harris, and the DOJ. Nathan Wade, now is a possible witness.
On the other hand, if she takes herself off the case, then now you have the incompetent, Nathan Wade, or someone worse is in charge of things, and Fanny and her entire office may be in the witness seat.
In addition, Judge McAfee, removed the meat of the case, by dropping the six counts. The prosecutors now will have to go before another grand jury if they want to rewrite these indictments.
In addition, this whole soap opera is going to be delayed for months, certainly after the election.
I’m sure other people in this form will list many other reasons why this could very well be a win for the Trump team.
In addition, I think this was a pretty clever verdict by The Judge. He comes down as being impartial. In fact, looking like overly ruling in favor of Fanny and her while bf. On the other hand, he has put some obstacles in front of them if they choose to go forward.
Should Trump appeal the verdict? I don’t know. It doesn’t sound like Fanny and her boyfriend are in the clear. To the contrary, I think they have some explaining to do not only to the Georgia Bar and the ethics committee in Georgia but also to Congress and beyond.
I welcome your thoughts.
“The whole world sees the sham and the political nature of this whole thing.”
As Andrew Breitbart would say, “So?”
Her stunning arrogance, like shingles, doesn’t care. She’ll change nothing in her actions or character. Her nasty black ass is above it all, and she’ll double down on all of that
She’s still in hot water.
Maybe McAfee was told DC was going to work her over and dump her. Nope. Fanny isn't going to withdraw. If McAfee, so learned in the law, had taken a single moment to read this histrionic autobiography that IS STILL STILL ON FultonCounty.gov, he would know how badly he made the wrong decision.

“From being a very, very little girl until I sit here today, there was never anything I’ve ever wanted to do but practice law or sit on the bench,” Fulton County’s newest district attorney (DA) Fani Willis explains. “I always knew that I wanted to be the district attorney, but in my mind, I would never run against the sitting DA… but the cries got louder and louder and louder… and I just took the leap of faith and did what God called me to do.”The new District Attorney Willis decided to take her chances and tend to the needs of her community, explaining that “some of these South Fulton advocates… were really pressing me, like, ‘We’re not being paid attention to, we want to be sure that we’re safe.’” Fani’s unseating of Paul Howard as Fulton County District Attorney has earned her a considerable break as she is now set to be the first woman to service Fulton County as district attorney.
Fani’s African-American HistoryFani has a seemingly proud family background as an African-American woman. As what can now be considered a conscious foreshadowing to her future endeavors, she describes her Swahili name’s intended meaning, saying: “My name is actually Fani (fah-nee), Taifa is my middle name, and my last name is Willis. So, my father was a Black Panther, so he was very Afrocentric… my name is Swahili. Fani actually means ‘prosperous,’ and Taifa means ‘people’.”
Fani celebrates her name’s interpretation as an expressive tip toward the African culture. She explains, regarding the term “prosperous” that “We’re not talking about material things in wealth, we’re talking about that stuff that really matters… I always remember my roots, that I come from a prosperous people, which are African people.”
Trump's lawyers are going to dump new revelations about Fani's gigilo kickback scheme every. single. day, forcing McAfee to reconsider. They had people ready to go the Monday after closing arguments. They have forensic auditors examining the money trail. If some Napa Valley whine steward can say he saw Fani and Wade pay in cash, I can sure as hell find someone in Aruba or that cruise to show they flaunted their credit card and signed everything to their room.
I am in complete agreement with you. I believe you have called it exactly right.
Yep
So Wade has resigned. Big whoop. Justice served? Not even close. But typical.
You’re right. The verdict is a travesty, but it helps Trump I think.
Wade just stepped aside. Goodbye.
Keep in mind that I believe this whole Fani Mugabe fiasco became the focus of a disqualification effort on the part of a Trump co-defendant, not Trump's legal team.
Haha
He’s up for reelection.
He tried to thread the needle.
Yes, it was a very cowardly verdict
Yes
I think his verdict oozes with his desire, ie The Judge, to have this thing appealed
I think he also said that it’s like finding two burglars in the bank vault with the money, and you arrest only one of them
Sometimes, spelling is cryptic.
The Judge needs to resign himself. He created this ruling out of thin air, and on his desired outcome. Not on the rule of law or the merits of the case. How can he ever render a just decision again. Fulton County has made a mockery of justice. None of this illegal pursuit of Trump, et al, should have ever happened.
Trump won’t lose his black vote; one of the reasons his black voters are his black voters, is because they are fed up as the rest of his voters with the shenanigans of Democrats such as Fani Willis.
Right. Exactly. The judge ruled down the middle in his own best interest. Willis is in for a rough ride no matter what and could be politically toxified after this is all done. Judges court kicks the can and rules on the safe and effective parts only. Judicial cowardice.
Another shot at a stake in the heart of the whole matter. From what is reported ad nauseam on TV, if Willis is removed from the case, her entire office is automatically removed. The judge even referred to this in the ruling, stating that Willis alone could not recuse herself, but her whole office would be subsequently removed. Apparently, were that to happen, the case is (likely by law based on how frequently this is reported) then handed off to another DA, for review. That review can vary, from carrying the case forward as it exists, to modifying it (more delay), or even killing it off completely (best case).
This would be the best goal from a legal standpoint, and why you would therefore go for the appeal. If however, you want to instead base your decision on the political fallout, and want to keep Willis hanging out in the wind, that is an option. My counter to that approach from a political perspective is while it might help with your core supporters, it could actually hurt with potential blacks you’ve been trying to court lately.
He should appeal
