I had the colonscopy and endoscopy yesterday. The endoscopy found a healing ulcer in my duodenum just beyond the stomach. Discontinuing ibuprofen, turmeric, serrapeptase, nattakinase and serrapeptase and use of a proton pump inhibitor allowed the bleeder to heal. Adding a heme-based iron supplement has turned around my iron deficiency anemia. RBC, hemoglobin and ferretin are all recovering to normal ranges. The colonoscopy found 7 polyps. All removed. Waiting for histology reports. Monday morning brings a surgical consult to arrange gallbladder removal. The new gremlin is a juxtapleural pulmonary node. CT ordered to investigate with a lung scan. Deferred maintenance is getting expensive.

Histology results: all polyps were pre-cancerous. Schedule another colonoscopy in 3 years. Samples from the stomach lining show no H. pylori. Samples from duodenum show no celiac sprue. Overall, a good report. The anemia is resolving. Removing the gallbladder should make the itching over my liver, lower legs and shoulders go away. Removal date TBD.
