Your memory supports what I remember about it, Tuscaloosa. And, the woman Dean married was one of the “honeys”. He married her to save his skin, and he connived to take Nixon down, but I am sure some would find fault with my opinion.
Isn’t it strange how these events “rhyme”, repeating in kind but not quite the same as the world turns.
It is almost as if it has to happen, so each generation has a chance to learn directly what they cant learn by reading and thinking on their own. We keep repeating the same stupid behaviors and mistakes.

Thanks, everyone. The reason I got to thinking about it is that I heard someone mentioning that Nixon got us out of a war, and did some kind of peace thing with Russia, and that Trump had backed off wars and calmed things down with Russia. Discussing the parallels, and how the deep state tried to get rid of both of them.
Not that I don’t think Nixon wasn’t deep state himself,- I was in my teens when all that went down so I hadn’t really thought about it.
I was just happy that the war ended, and my boyfriend (now husband) wasn’t going to have to go to Vietnam.
