My 7-y/o daughter recently had a sleepover with three of her friends. By 9:00 pm they were all fighting with each other and crying.

Always have an even number of girls otherwise one is always on the outs. At least that is what we're experience with our preteen.

Always have an even number of girls otherwise one is always on the outs. At least that is what we're experience with our preteen.

It was even. My daughter, two other girls who were sisters, and then a fourth girl. The two sisters picked one side and my daughter and the fourth girl, the other side. They were fighting over who got to be the leader of a make-believe game they were playing.

They wanted me to referee the argument. I just wanted to drink beer, watch TV, and go to bed.
