What does woke mean?
The word "woke" is a term originated in African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) see: The Cultural Significance of Aave in Sports to mean "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination." Beginning in the 2010s, it came to encompass a broader awareness of social inequalities, such as sexism, and has also been used as shorthand for some ideas attributed to the American Left involving identity politics and social justice, such as white privilege and slavery reparations for African Americans.
In the early 2000s, the word "woke" was used by African Americans to describe a state of being aware of and actively attentive to the issues surrounding race. The term was popularized by the Black Power movement in the 1960s, and it has continued to be used by Black Americans to describe their awareness of racial injustice and the true non-whitewashed history of America.

I recall when major league baseball (it wasn’t called “MLB”) consisted of two totally separate leagues—and baseball was much better that way.

I suppose it’s an accurate ranking but I care not for any of them. I used to but I no longer follow any of them except for FR threads. That keeps me somewhat up to date on sports stuff but other than that they’re all flatlining for me.

If you consider “progress” to be supporting woke causes, your reporting in more woke than the people you’re reporting.

NBA, MLS, NFL, MLB, NHL, in that order. The commissioner of MLB is more work than the one that runs the NFL. However, the NFL had problems with national anthem protests and you didn’t see that in MLB. Plus MLB players tend to be more conservative than NFL even though you have a minority of NFL players who are conservative.
LOL! If no one watches your games, and no one attends, and the only coverage you get is from a network that broadcasts your games and therefore has a vested interest in your games, and the only way you financially survive is from subsidies from the companion men's league.... why should you receive equal pay? And equal to what?!
P.S. I notice ESPN is now pushing women's soccer, in the form of the NWSL. How many viewers will they draw? In the hundreds I imagine.
