My cousin took a part time retirement gig at a Home Depot in south Phoenix. He said that they bust illegals trying to shoplift on a daily basis. He also added that the most the other ones are just rude jerks. The good news is that his lifelong Democrat voting wife is now an enthusiastic Trump voter.
I would support the others stopping this thief, but the language they used gives me no choice but to be against them.

Dangerous business. I once saw a dollar store employee stabbed multiple times in the face while trying to stop a female shoplifter who had rolled a stolen 40 gallon trash can full of stolen merchandise out of the store. The employee was very fortunate the thief was not carrying a firearm.

According to Mercury News, Newsom shared the story before the start of a Zoom meeting about a mental health measure he's supporting.
In the meeting, Newsom said he was at a Target store and waiting in line with a cart when he saw another customer walk straight past him without paying.
"As we're checking out, the woman says, 'Oh he's just walking out, he didn't pay for that,' I said, 'Why didn't you stop him?' She goes, 'Oh, the governor.' Swear to God, true story, on my mom's grave. 'The governor lowered the threshold, there's no accountability.' I said, 'That's just not true,'" Newsom said in the video, adding that the girl added, "we don't stop them [shoplifters] because of the governor."
They even talk like regular people rather than with streams of beeps between words. Hope they got the thief’s license plate number and left no doubt that any attempt to sic lawyers on them could result in much more of an ass kicking than he got here.

Those guys will probably get some trouble for this. I am glad they went after him and stopped him though.
Sometimes something happening to a thief like this will scare him into thinking long and hard about doing it again.
He probably went for that one item that he was determined to take and thought, why stop with one item when I can walk with a cartload?
If those fellas hadn’t stopped him, nobody would have and he would have been back later in the day for more.

It would be a lot more refreshing if local government did it’s damn job and punished offenders so they didn’t try this kind of crap in the first place.
