The series had great production aspects. Scenery, photography, a better bygone age (that only a miniscule few ever experienced, but why niggle over details).

The same creator tried to translate the general atmosphere to NYC with The Gilded Age, Astors and Vanderbilts et al., which is über-woke crap.

Expect more of the latter for the re-boot of Downton Abbey.

The guy that played Lord Grantham is in a series about archaeologists called “The Bonekickers” Very woke with some mystical stuff thrown in.

The problem with Fellows ( who wrote this series ), is that it is based on his movie:"GOSFORD PARK", which he based on the MUCH SUPERIOR Brit series:"UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS".

Downton Abbey is NOT as good/nor well done as GOSFORD PARK, which, whilst okay to good, is a pale copy of the FANTASTIC UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS, and Downton Abbey is the worst of the lot.
