It’s not an identity. An identity is something that cannot be changed. It’s a moral failing or temptation, like any other, except morally and legally much worse. Some people have temptations to steal, commit adultery, lie, rob banks, and so on. No one is “born a pedo”. I never looked much into pedo-hood, but the majority of homosexuals were molested or seduced as children or youths.

Of course now sexual perversions of all kinds are blasted at young people from every direction, that’s why the numbers of various kinds of pervs has increased.
