Interesting. it has done well vis-a-vis the SP500. But there’s only $85mm in it. No expense ratio is listed, but I’ll bet it’s high at this point. And only 3mm shares. Liquidity could be low, and bid-ask spreads may be high.
Worth keeping an eye on, though. Thanks.
Done!
I invest in over 30 mutual funds that are in equities in my Roth IRA. Where will this month's investments go? Into whichever mutual fund has the lowest balance. (I'm quasi retired and currently working, thus currently investing, but we'll pretend I'm still working all year.) It doesn't matter why that particular mutual fund is lower than the others. I buy into it.
Likewise in retirement I do my 4% annual withdrawal (usually it's 1/3rd of 1% monthly) from whatever mutual fund has the highest balance.
I am all in on FTXL and State Street S&P. SVSPX
I have 5 years left before retirement.
Yes, I am a risk taker.
I would say the overall strategy is an excellent one, although I’m not sure you need 30 mutual funds to do it.
Portfolio rebalancing is a very solid way to go. You force yourself to buy low and sell high, but without trying to “time” the market.
I like semiconductor ETFs, SOXX in particular.
And Warren Buffet once said that if you bought $10,000 worth of the SP500 in the middle of WW2, and reinvested the dividends and cap gains, you’d have over $50,000,000 today.
I would have been happy with 1000 bucks with Apple in 1982.
I didn’t have 1000 bucks in 1982 nor did I understand a business called Apple.
TI and Kodak were high tech to me.
It is very difficult to be a visionary.

please add me to the pinglist, thanks
Or is it ?
Depends on where you see the market going from here.
I have been running a short side sqqq/tqqq swing trade since NDX was about 14000. I’ve had my tail twisted a few times looking at “technicals”. I have come to really believe that it's just a reflection of the dollar.
With 10 trillion $s in short term debt to reissue along with 2 trillion new debt over the next year hitting the bond market.... the dollar will be diluted .
This means it will take more dollars to buy the value of real things ... even the market. Asset inflation.
Now I could be wrong ... I often am, but I have capitulated.
I swing a long side tqqq/sqqq and am buying mining now.
QQQ is a gentle way to ride the up market, but if the bear starts to eat or the black swan flies... watch out.
All these $$ end up some where ... a lot in the markets.
Every kid with a smart phone is day trading on the margins.
The Saudis are dumping dollars in to every thing that ticks.
More pension fund $$ are flowing in, money market , foreign
reserves .... it's a flood.
I think it would take a real black swan to dent the market.
NDX is about 200 pts off its high today .... not much of a correction , more like a stop loss raid.
War didn't stop the run.
Is there anything that will ?
Excuse my ramblings ... but I guess since I have capitulated and thrown out any metrics of rational investment, the market can go ahead and tank now. (I bet we see ndx 20000 within 30 days... barring the black swan)
Except for all the people who bought in the last month, it worked pretty good for them

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I started using tight stop sells (too late in life, sadly) on my holdings, usually like 1-2% below the purchase price. If the stock goes up, I move the stop sell up along with it. The stock gets sold if it drops below the stop, and I have saved some considerable losses that way.
Trailing stops can be a great tool, but I’v seen a lot of folks get taken out in stop loss raids just to have to buy back in at a higher price.
Ever seen a quick drop right before a moon shot ?
stop loss raid.
So what are you looking at / holding ?
Where is this market headed?
Throw me a bone ....
Add me to the ping list, please.
I would also like to be on your ping list please!
I put all my eggs in trusting the US Congress and US Treasury to deploy more deficit spending and more treasury notes to fund it.
They will continue to debase the currency in this fashion, just like many other countries have done all the way back to the Romans -and the Carthaginians before them.
This is why I’m in commodity stocks. Something economies must have to feed their kleptocracy while keeping the pbles from revolting.
In the future, post these threads in chat. Thanks.
Will do. Thanks.
