I understand Lauren likes to go to movies, too.

Ha, you’re right. I had forgotten about that little episode.

And as a side note, I kinda hope Rep. Boebert gets re-elected. Sure, she’s “unusual” in more ways than one. But she’s strong on the 2A. And if the Dem’s can have their eccentric types (AOC, etc.) we should have a few as well.

Apparently Neil Armstrong was once being interviewed for a newspaper article and was asked about his daily workout or exercise regimen. Did he jog?

“I believe we only have a finite number of heartbeats, I’ll be damned if I’m going to waste mine running around the block”. Naturally, NASA and the press office got wind of this, and ole Neil “clarified” his remarks - he was naturally a huge proponent of exercise!

If you flew in war, as a test pilot, and as an astronaut you can do whatever you damn well please.
Good man, better times.

—”Will Ferrell finished a marathon.”
Several marathons...????

first link unaccessible?

The second link was very interesting!
THANK YOU!
I used HRV training for years and recommend it... amazing stuff.
A fellow HRV user once commented, that the morning HRV reading knows if he had a second beer with dinner the night before.
I do not doubt it.

I have completed a few marathons including Leadville starting point at over 10,000 feet elevation.
Then migrated over to cycling where over-training is well known.

“Marco Pantani. Considered one of the best cyclists of all time, his resting heart rate was 34bpm, and could drop to even more dangerous levels in sleep. So dangerous he would need to wake up at night and cycle just to raise his heart rate to a safe level.”

May have been extenuating circumstances.

Here is a cardiologist on the topic.
https://youtu.be/hT8GZlBBv5k?si=XWn3M6THoCeuN7WK

My morning resting HR was consistently ~44 during the years I did HRV. My physician did not see any problem.

Didn’t President Truman say that if you want a friend in DC, you need to get a dog?

If you can’t find a friend in DC, I wouldn’t even TRY to get a date.

“the guy stated that needed to let me know up front that he was not interested in marriage and kids.”

At least the guy had integrity—very rare in DC.

That’s right around my resting HR back when I was training for PJ Indoc before joining the USAF.
I was at 40 in Basic when we were giving blood.
I was told 1 lower and I wouldn’t be allowed to give.

I’m mostly around 50 now when resting. It depends on Season and training.

Worth watching.

Though I don’t understand why a nurse is asking a colonoscopy patient if he feels safe at home from domestic violence.

Sounds like a lead up to the question, “Are there any firearms in the home?” but he stole that thunder...

I don’t know about ‘integrity’ - but he was honest about one thing.

Honesty is a good thing—even if it is delivering bad news.

Liars can be very dangerous—especially if they are good at it.

“Though I don’t understand why a nurse is asking a colonoscopy patient if he feels safe at home from domestic violence.”

A few hours ago I filled out a form for a new PCP. The domestic violence was one of the questions on the form. I guess that’s the in thing now.
