All cities are trash…suburbs and rural are the only nice places anywhere.

Russia SHOULD be our friend, but the US is obsessed with / addicted to generations-old geopolitical paradigms that should have withered away long ago. Russia behaves the way it does on the world stage because of US and Western pressure. What else can they do? Roll over and give up? Not going to happen. The US needs to respect their existence and interests and work together when appropriate. When we don’t agree, we can compromise.

The way I see it, the same people who have a problem with Russia have a problem with Trump. Why? Because he doesn’t respect any of their “sacred” tenets of geopolitics. Russia, NK, Iran, all of our “enemies”? He would make friends of them. No one HAS to be enemies, they (and we) CHOOSE that relationship. Does anyone REALLY believe that Putin, Kim, Khomeini, etc. are just irrational, stupid, bloodthirsty men? No, they just have different interests and aren’t interested in rolling over (plus we have ****ed all of their counties at some time, to be fair). It’s time to learn how to stop trying to be the hegemon and return to diplomacy.

LOL, right, so then explain to me why the chance of Tucker deciding to move there is zero.

The Japanese cities are also very orderly and clean.

Freedom of speech red light districts. It’s the same in some parts of Europe.

I can tell you unequivocally that the US State Department “warnings” on Russia are inaccurate, exaggerated, and politicized. They are dangerously close to what some would call “total bull****”. They have been that way since at least 2009 and got WAY worse after 2022. I’ve visited Russia for 1-2 months every year, and even lived there for almost two years once. I’ve been all over the country. None of what the State Department writes is even remotely true.

I have heard the same from others. No ugly graffiti on everything, no poop and pee everywhere, no drug addicts and needles, not a bunch of boarded up windows and trash everywhere. Clean trains and subways. Modern shops and stores.

We used to have nice cities but I blame our political left and government itself for destroying and turning the US into a 3rd world dump.

He isn’t pandering. It is you that wants to believe the worst. We can’t fix this problem in the US until we admit what we have turned into. Our cities used to have great areas too. Now those great areas are going to shat. Denying it because you hate Russia isn’t going to fix us.

Problem we have is that the large cities are looking like big dumps and smelling like toilets.

Think about San Francisco. It was a gorgeous diamond and bustling with business and life. Now? Boarded up, smelly, and full of homeless.

When was that?

Despite the negative attention from the MSM, the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2018 World Cup dispelled the notion that Russia was unsafe to travel around. Many thousands of people from around the world traveled to Russia and had a fantastic time there, including a number of FReepers.

There’s a lot of folks playing fast and loose with the truth these days. Folks that seemingly trust all the wrong people. Putin is no more trustworthy than Zelensky is. And those here touting how “safe” it is to wander around in Moscow as an American citizen are hilarious.

🤡🤡🤡

I was living in Russia during the 2018 World Cup and went to a match in Rostov-na-Donu. There were tons of international people and many Americans. Logistics and organization were flawlessly executed.

A woman walks along the street of houses with wooden carved window architraves in the village of Bolshoy Kunaley, one of the historical centres of Russian Orthodox Old Believers culture, in Buryatia republic, Russia, September 17, 2021.

Too bad Tucker didn’t get a chance to explore more of Russia.

Well, it IS a very clean ghetto.
