Nobody else was confused. Bizarre.
If you hadn’t looked it up elsewhere, from this article alone, to which state would you go to find this place?
There was a Sweet Tomatoes in Kennesaw GA. In addition to the salad buffet, they had several hot soups available, along with cheesy breads. If you felt like you had eaten too much healthy food, there was the self-serve soft ice cream for dessert.
Per the internet, all locations in GA closed.
Now I see why you are confused. When we post, we can select any part of the article we want to. I selected the part that is a few paragraphs down. If you click the link, you will see that Tucson ARIZONA is clearly identified earlier.
Let’s hope they open all over the place like before. I think the article states they plan on some kind of expansion.
+1 on Jason’s.
I never liked Sweet Tomatoes. They landed on Souper Salad who were awesome and drove them out (put their stores within half a mile). Wasn’t sad to see them die. Probably won’t go to their rebirth.
The Sweet Tomatoes we tried in Gilbert, AZ was terrible, so it’s definitely dependent on location (but of course, that usually the case).
stopped going their years ago. Why pay 10-12 bucks for a meal with very little meat available. Salad bar area started becoming ill kept and sloppy...sometimes, the vegetables seemed a bit wilted.
The Souplantation near us in San Diego still looks exactly like it did when it closed in 2020...my son loves Souplantation and will be thrilled if that location reopens soon.
No, it’s by the pound. Reasonable prices, good variety. It costs me more, but there’s no more wasted food in the fridge.
OK. So that was satire. I was wondering.
However, the quality went down from the beginning. The humungous muffins became tiny. Wonton Chicken Happiness became Wonton (No-)Chicken (Un)happiness. The incredible chicken soup got smaller pieces of meat. We eventually stopped going out of our way to eat there.
And ten different kinds of burgers with three or four different kinds of fries, occasionally onion rings, and some of the higher end establishments serve Texas toothpicks.
Proof positive of what the left has been telling us for years.
At least you folks in Californy still The Sizzler. I think the original Salad Bar and still one of the best out there. All you can eat.....that’s my criteria. None of this one time or by the pound stuff. Sizzler and Soup Plantation do it right....
Haha, If the name gets out nationwide, some activist... some where... is going to seize on the opportunity to be “triggered” by the word “Plantation”
Just a prediction
Maybe it will come back as “Sweet Tomatoes” just in case.
Sweet Tomatoes? = San Marzano
