Sweet Tomatoes (aka Soup Plantation)Could Finally Reopen This Month—Here's What To Know (only salad bar as good as Sizzler imho)

Also known as Souplantation in California, Sweet Tomatoes was known for its fresh salad bar and buffet selection of soups, pizza, and bread. The Tucson location that's set to reopen—which is located at 6202 East Broadway Blvd.—initially opened its doors in 1996. Malone said that it's still a "very good unit" located in a great market, adding, "We're thrilled to return."

I loved Soup Plantation in California. But the pandemic killed it. I hope it comes back here.

The soup/salad bar is non existent in Alabama. I used to love Souper!salad in Kansas. and J.R. Saladays in Michigan. Best salad bar i know of here is Jasons deli, no soup, but there’s free soft serve ice cream.

My late wife and I used to go to the Sweet Tomatoes in Orlando whenever we had business there. Would very much look forward to its reopening, maybe even in a closer location to the Chajin Castle.

The Sweet Tomatoes building in The Woodlands, Texas was torn down and replaced with an In 'N Out Burgers.

I don't think it's coming back here anytime soon. In fact, the TGIF at The Woodlands Mall went out of business last month and a new restaurant chain called Yard House is tearing down that building and erecting their own in its place.

Yeah, the great salad bars like The Sizzler and Sweet tomatoes (Soup Plantation).....aren’t found in Texas either.

Seems like the only food they like here in Texas is fried chicken in one form or another.........it gets old after awhile.

>>>Souplantation in California...The Tucson location...>>>

I think you missed the “Also known as” part. “Also known as Souplantation in California.....the Tucson location”...etc.

Seems ok to me...

Why in the world do you think that is racist? The article itself says:

“Also known as Souplantation in California, Sweet Tomatoes was known for its fresh salad bar and buffet selection of soups, pizza, and bread.”

That location was ALWAYS busy, but COVID made it pretty much impossible to operate a salad bar, which was fatal to a business where that was the core function. There has been a ton of excitement in Tucson social media over the reopening, so I am curious to see how well it does.

The word "plantation" is racist...because of the plantations in the old South.

Of course that means the US Constitution is racist, because the word "Plantations" appears in it.

Three Sweet Tomatoes are now open in Orlando. I used to take my mother to the one on East Colonial before the pandemic. She will be pleased to learn that it is open again.

A Salad Station recently opened in Valley Ranch/Irving. Good selection and convenient-2 miles from my house. I hope they hang around.

Next to the Canes on MacArthur.
