Yeah, your pH sounds like a problem.
Beets also like boron. I heard that sprinkling a little bit of Borax around the beets is supposed to be good for them.
Thanks! I am more worried about the box being hit than anything - speeding PUs, lots of farm equipment, snow plows. Mom has crossed the road to the mailbox while I waited in the driveway, so I haven’t gotten a good look at the situation. I think the flag is a little bent/warped & the side may be dented, but the door works fine & the flag will go up/down. What most people are looking for is the house number on the post & they don’t pay attention to the box.
At our ‘flatland’ place, we got a mail delivery in our old box/new location yesterday- yay! I left a note on a piece of cardboard attached to a 2x4 stuck in the old post hole, just in case the Carrier wasn’t paying attention & missed the box. The old box itself (as opposed to the usual post only hit) had been hit & the door bent up. I got out my tool bag & worked on the door - it’s working better than it has in months, virtually ‘normal’, so that should make the carrier happy.
Any mail we send containing checks is mailed at the PO - both places have a PO within 5-10 minutes away. Virtually no checks come in the mail- use direct deposit.
Sounds good, this box was a good solution for us. It’s really not in a spot where it would be hit and the security is great.
My grandfather would look a the hooves on his cow ponies. In the fall if their hair on their lower legs got very long it was going to be a cold winter.
That makes total sense. :)
(No, no no! Not Feb 20-16! Feb 10-16!!! Someone is anxious for spring!! Nuf said! :0
