Reagan set NPR’s and PBS’ budget at zero - he was overridden by Senate Rs who liked going to dinner with the DC fancy set. The idea for PBS/NPR came out of a time when there were three broadcast networks and no cable; there are now hundreds of channels and why us taxpayers should be forced to pay for these overpaid leftist loons who dish out hate and lies at our expense is beyond me. Let Soros pay for them.

I demand as a conservative tax payer that PBS be de funded and sold and payment be used to go directly to pay down the debt. Or let Tucker Carlson get 50% air time to offer the truth.

Defunding National Endowment for the Arts (and/or other similar funders of filth and promoters of perversion) was attempted by George W. Bush (IIRC).
He was called names and ridiculed by the usual suspects. And then the Pubbies shrugged their shoulders and said, “meh, forget it”.
