“she did it intentionally, and at Murdaugh’s direction...”

That scenario certainly crossed my mind.

If it was a comment overheard by the juror, the clerk might have been telling a bailiff to watch the judge that was messing with a booger in his nose.   "Watch him closely, he keeps picking at his nose."

Given the family’s wide spread influence, I think Murdaugh thought that it would be an advantage to have a home court jury. Not to mention, the boat wreck provided a motive for someone wanting to kill pau pau. Recently I spoke to the original DA who was first at the scene. He said it was very unusual to have two guns involved.

I was never convinced that Murdaugh was so whacked out and desperate that he killed his wife and son as a way out of his financial trouble. It would have made more sense if he committed murder/suicide.

And the juror has remorse or is looking for the limelight.

wow.

Well, South Carolina, YOU are on the hook for a new trial.

I guess ‘if you can’t be a good example, then you will just have to be a horrible warning’ comes into play for Miss Becky.

And that’s the way it should be.
In this particular case, the juror heard something said by the clerk to her judge in open court, which is a mistake.
Apparently the clerk is accused of doing much more.
The defendant probably is guilty, but especially in a murder trial, the defense is going to use anything it can.

“Apparently the clerk is accused of doing much more”

She is set to be questioned right after the courts’ lunch break today.

The proceedings can be viewed live on Court TV.

“Unbelievable a court clerk would taint a trial like this”

Small town SC.

Agree. I never bought the theory that he murdered his wife and son to prolong the discovery of his financial crimes and gain sympathy. It is ridiculous to believe that a career lawyer would rather be convicted of two first degree murder charges than financial crimes. I can accept a spouse murdering a spouse, happens all the time. But, I can not see a father who doted on his son, went on a tour of their property and hours later decided to blow his head off.

"Our justice system is hopelessly corrupt from top to bottom."

We have not had a justice system for the better part of the last century. It has been replaced by the legal system.

The fact that jurors could be influenced by the opinion of a court clerk just tells you how dumbed down and stupid people are. The jurors are supposed to be looking at the evidence and deciding from there.

As it turns out only one of twelve jurors said she was influenced......the question is, is that enough to warrant a mistrial and subsequent retrial.

3 jurors have been dismissed in a current trial I’m following. In Connecticut. This country is rotten. Not just government. An oath means nothing. The jurors cannot keep quiet or stay off social media.

I watched some of the interrogation of Miss Becky by the judge and think she was telling stories. I really like the judge!

Wow the judge is issuing the ruling now. She said Miss Becky was not credible. She found that the jurors served properly. She just said that a new trial is not required.
