“Diversity” started in corporate quality circles and it meant including a diverse cross section of stakeholders in any team or decision. It was fabulously successful. Then HR got ahold of it and their interpretation was it meant include black people.
The word “stakeholders” is one of my pet peeves—because most folks who use it have never used a mallet to pound a stake in the ground.

And then the open borders, anti-MAGA crowd used it to fuel its agenda.
At the same time it worked to convince high-school and college students that immigrants couldn't be illegals.
Then with a snap of its fingers it changed red states to blue states.
Maybe at first, but it quickly morphed into "include anyone EXCEPT white people."
