Wasn’t biden doing badly until he wont south carolina?

I can’t figure out how DeSantis actually thought fighting Trump was a viable strategy. All the risks vs. rewards scenarios didn’t work with this tac.

If he was hoping to move into Trumps place if he got convicted, he would have done it best by not getting on the snide with Trump supporters.

If he wanted to become Trump’s VP pick at the convention, he would have done it best by campaigning hard but not by attacking Trump.

If he wanted to look strong in this election season and come back with more cred in 2028 (as many past presidents have done and not won their first attempt), he would have best done it by not alienating more than half of the base.

I just don’t understand it

Well, we know that the DNC rigged the primaries for Hillary. What makes you think they didn’t do the same for Biden in 2020? They had to do something to drag Biden across the finish line, for he was the most likely one to select to be the front man for Obama’s 3rd term after Hillary had failed in the General Election.

Yup. Ramaswamy showed the way. If DeSantis would have been content with a strong second place, and let Haley or Christie be the black hat, he would have been completely set up for '28, VP, or both.
