No! As accomplished as he is, he is so low energy. We’re all talking about how the world does not fear Biden; it would be the same case with Carson.
Surgeon General.....THAT would be the obvious post for Dr. Carson in my mind.
Bingo. Too low energy. And too damned old to serve two terms as President. Honestly, we don’t need to keep electing people in their 70s and 80s to lead our country. We need somebody young and energetic.
As far as the poster who said Nikki is the logical choice… why is that? I’m at a loss. I’ll take Don Jr at his word that he won’t allow it, and that s a good thing. Elise Stefanik is at the top of my list right now
He comes across as a nice guy.....too nice... milk toast even. Total nonstarter.
He’s a “thinker before you act” type of person. And at age 71 he is not old
“No! As accomplished as he is, he is so low energy. We’re all talking about how the world does not fear Biden; it would be the same case with Carson.”
I think Ronald Reagan and GW Bush were the only recent Presidents I know who chose a running mate who they thought could actually take the “Commander in Chief” role if something happened to them (GHW Bush under Reagan and Dick Cheny under GWBush).
Most often V.P. picks have not been successors to the President they served and sometimes I think some Presidents prefer it that way (avoids an over-ambitious V.P. under them).
I think Biden chose Harris because he could check two “idenity” boxes with her - woman and “minority” - and with ZERO other consideration.
I think Trump will not pick a V.P. who would be so great that they could be seen as a successor. Ben Carson would be good for electoral reasons and fit that bill.
“We’re all talking about how the world does not fear Biden; it would be the same case with Carson.”
Not the same at all. Carson may be soft spoken, but he is the exact opposite of demented.
