Yeah... the numbers are made up by those who read the death certificates and tabulate the causes of death recorded on the death certificates.
Every person who dies gets a death certificate (unless they disappeared without a trace). The death certificate records the cause of death. The deaths are reported to state and federal health agencies. The CDC puts out a report every year of how many people died from what. It’s fascinating reading.
