Jimmy Page playing Rumble at the RRHOF last year. The actual title of the Youtube video is scrambled ("Jimmy Page Link Wray's Rumble Rock Hall 2023 Full Performance") so I cleaned it up some.

People will argue about the best guitarist of all time for eternity yet when you look at the complete package; musician, composer, songwriter, arranger, producer, performer- few match Pagey
Bravo!
And if Epstein and Clinton were perverts, meet Jimmy Page.
Led Zeppelin was noise.
The music I grew up with.
Surf music, most all of them.
Beach boyz were a joke, along with Jan and Dean. Poseurs.
Yep, true.
Best moment here is at 1:22 when he hits the big E chord with a signature upstroke...
Getting to see Link Wray in an outdoor mountain hovel( Chateau Liberte, Santa Cruz Mountains) surrounded by a bundle of biker clubs and etc was awesome.
He put on a great show, full rumble. I think that was 1972 or 1973.
Jimmy Page. I saw him playing guitar with the Yardbirds and Jeff Beck in 1966. They both played lead guitar only a few months in that band. I was lucky to see the last show Jeff Beck played with that band.
JP was such a great composer, session player and musician.
But this? Sad. I presume he can still play and just wanted to do the tune. High School out of tune garage band stuff. No matter. He has nothing left to prove. He has basically been retired since LZ broke up in 1980.
Page will turn 80 on Tuesday.
Well, Page sure liked Wray. Here he is thoroughly enjoying the 45 of Rumble in his listening room:

Yeah I love it when they tell us about their influences etc. Sure they built on stuff before but Jimmy Page IMO actually created a new style of music. Thanks for posting.
JP was a genius in my book. I wish he had kept going.
At least that performance you shared was not as bad as Jimmy Page and Neil Young’s sabotage of When the Levee Breaks which took garbage down to whole another level. :-)
They both played lead guitar only a few months in that band.
*******************
Page, Beck, and Clapton were all with the band for over a year. Clapton and Page, around two years. The shortest stint was Beck’s. Page originally played bass with the band.
Yep.
Yep.
They helped destroy America as much as the commies. Maybe more.
Dick Dalewas one of the pioneers.
I listened to his band in the late 50’s-early 60’s.
Used to think I could play “Miserlou”
Maybe a bar or two......
