Democrats-they could hold all their remaining seats, lose the presidency, but flip either Florida or Texas

Some guys in the thread understand without being explicit that politics is no longer conservative or liberal. It is Swamp or Not Swamp.
That drives the point made about temporary or interim appointments. In his first term, there is no question that he did not understand the power of the Swamp. He went to the GOP apparatus to get nominees, and they then got confirmed as Swamp Filth and proceeded to run agencies in a business as usual manner, with no focus on drainage.
So dodging Senate confirmation is a big deal, but we need to be 100% focused on process. The morning after he wins the election, he can’t go out and start interviewing the Vivek guy and other purely business people with little interest in politics. This would solidify all of the Swamp’s fears and likely generate agreement by Senate Swamp filth to remove him from office when impeachment articles arrive from the House, maybe on Jan 21.
He has to make noises during the transition. Have meetings with the RNC and talk about candidates for cabinet positions from the RNC. We will rage until we realize these are all rumors and he has nominated none of them. He has to buy time until actually sworn in.
Then remember, it is against the law to remove civil service people without cause. They have to be transferred to meaningless positions, and paid while in them. Trump will have to put business people in charge after a conversation with them about The Swamp. There will be no compelling need for the interim Secretary of State to travel and negotiate anything. His job will be to revamp diplomat training and from the bottom up, eliminate Swamp applicants.
It will take time.
FL is a D pipe dream. There are, at this time, nine races to watch:
TX - leans R (would be a flip for them)
WV - leans R (will be a flip)
OH - tossup (would be a flip)
MT - tossup (would be a flip)
AZ - uncertain, leans D (would be a flip)
NV - leans D (would be a flip)
WI - leans D (would be a flip)
MI - leans D (would be a flip)
PA - leans D (would be a flip)
If we want to explore pipe dreams, IN and MO join FL as D pipe dreams; and, MN, NH, NM and VA are R pipe dreams. One or the other set may open up if there are some dramatic events such as a full-blown recession.
All races are, to some extent, dependent on candidate recruitment, esp. Arizona. As the other side always has scads more money than we do, the Republicans are trying to recruit “self-funders.”
Important matter — a self-funder is likely from business and less likely to be Swamp Filth from a political career.
Current Senate makeup: 51 Dem / 49 Repub.
My prognostications indicate:
WV - flip from Dem to Repub. +1 Repub
MT - Tester might hang on, but I think he goes down this time +1 REoub
OH - Ohio is solid red, but this turd Brown is hard to beat and the Dems will cry “muh abortions” - tossup / likely Dem hold, but in a wave, Republicans take this one. Messaging down the stretch from Republicans on a national level will make the difference.
PA - Fools gold for republicans, plus mccormick is a hedge fund RINO. Most will disagree, but I believe Dr. Oz was a much better candidate than Romney-wannabe mccormick, plus mccormick won’t have the advantage of running against a mentally incapacitated Dem. PA is solid blue, and it may be due to rampant fraud, but this one is not flipping. Dem Hold.
AZ - No way Lake could beat Sineman 1 on 1, but it looks like a 3 way race, and if so I think Lake wins this. Repub flip +1 Repub
NV - i’d like to call this one a tossup but i think it ends up as a Dem hold. Still, this one is close enough it’s very possible esp. in a wave. I’ll call this one a Dem hold, for now.
WI - Wisconsin is such a difficult state to predict. I’m going to call this a Dem hold, for now.
MI - MI seems to be turning away from Republicans. I think it will take a wave to have a shot here. Dem hold.
TX - Please. Repub hold
FL - This one is not as safe as we want to think. DeSantis has done a lot of damage to his reputation and therefore the Republican party in FL but ultimately I think Scott holds on. However, if Dems have a good night, he will lose. Repub hold, for now.
Final Tally - 2024 Senate will be 52 Repub / 48 Dem.
In a Republican wave - they could get as many as 57 seats to 43 Dem.
The unfortunate caveat is that Mitch will be in charge and backstabbing Trump constantly. Thanks a lot KY.
Republicans would go broke trying to run a brothel next to an army base
It is somewhat run by permanent staff however, nominally the President can appoint recess appointments which are temporary. All of the government bureaucracy and branches will fight a simple attempt to outright abolish a department by decree. We need to remember that most of these executive branch departments are created by legislation and exist originally to execute laws enacted by Congress and signed into law by past Presidents.
All democraps care about is power, so that is why all they talk about is “flipping seats” and what they can do to get control of whatever. Its sociopathic behavior.
“... outright abolish a department by decree ....”
I assume when you say decree you mean by E.O.
As you point out offices, departments, agencies established by legislation can only be abolished by legislation. Very hard to do!
Ping.
Wishful thinking masquerading as analysis…
It doesn’t matter if the Senate has a small or huge Republican majority. They do nothing but backstab the American taxpayer at every turn.
I had to check the records to see if you said the same thing in 2020. We're safe :-)
"The 10 Senate seats most likely to flip in 2024"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
First, the bottom line...
Consider that political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because the electoral college is the only thing stopping the corrupt political parties from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.
Getting back to the referenced article, the author probably does not understand the following. The only reason for being concerned about how many Senate seats of the constitutionally limited power federal government flip is because misguided 17th Amendment voters keep reelecting political party crook career lawmakers to the Senate who help the likewise corrupt House pass unconstitutional taxing and spending bills imo.
Such bills not only steal unique 10th Amendment state powers to serve the people, but also state revenues (citizen's wallets) uniquely associated with those powers, state revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under it's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers. This is evidenced by the following material.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“ If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
From the congressional record:
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattetive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
Democrats [and RINOs] Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
The remedy for corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties that have pirated control of state and federal governments...
Democratic and Republican Trump-supporting patriots to be ready ASAP to effectively "impeach and remove" Constitution-ignoring Congress by primarying ALL incumbents up for reelection in 2024, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company (and others?).
Lawmakers need to be replaced with patriots who will not only support hopeful Trump 47 to finish draining the swamp, but will also do the following.
New lawmakers need to support Trump in leading the states to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes and unconstitutional interference in the affairs of the sovereign states by effectively "seceding" ALL the states from the unconstitutional big federal government by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A).
Consider the repealing of 16&17A as part of reparations for victim taxpayers of the unconstitutionally big federal government for having to pay a lifetime of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers and a few other constitutionally enumerated expenses.
In fact, consider that since one of the very few powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given to the big, bad federal government to dictate peacetime domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (most federal domestic policy actually based on stolen state powers imo), the worst problem that the country would otherwise be looking at with a new Congress of Trump-supporting freshman lawmakers is arguably that citizens that would get into the habit of lightheartedly questioning if the federal government has shutdown if they receive their mail a few days late.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same politicians to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
Patriots, let's not allow ourselves to be fooled for third time in 2024 by the corrupt political parties who are trying to destroy our constitutional republic.
Again, consider that political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because the electoral college is the only thing stopping the criminal-minded political parties from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.
Well stated.
so what, you can expect an ever increasing amount of dems working polls and such. I give FL 2-3 years tops. Desantis signed many things to stab Floridians in the back. He also never used his authority to seal the borders and stop the flow of illegals in and deport those in the state, he let them in shipped some around and still lets them do as they please. Why is he not using his authority? Answer: because he only cares about what effects him, or gets him more money or power.
True about Florida, but Texas could be an unpleasant surprise. Not saying it WILL happen, but overconfidence regarding Texas would be stupid.
Democrats routinely spend a ton in Texas, mostly for nothing, but one of these years TX is going to go red. Commie red. Abbott can’t bus out the Democrat invaders fast enough.
Every person offered a position in a 2nd Trump administration will have to ask themselves "Am I willing to face prison and/or financial ruin for this?" Serious Soviet Union/CCCP vibes.
