If all people are removed, NYC is a beautiful place. The architecture is just awesome. Even the ghettos have a certain charm.

Don't be afraid of NYC. I've worked there daily for ten years now and never had an issue. It's a remarkable place with tons of areas to explore, an excellent transit system, and an incredible selection of great food.

It's not like how the "news" portrays it.
