Fair question, deserves an honest answer.
My wife and I don't have broadcast or cable TV (for all the reasons you can well guess), and tonight we were hanging out playing a board game together and suddenly it was a few minutes to midnight, so we grabbed an iPad and did a quick lookup for whatever we could find that had the Times Square ball drop. Happened to be ABC. We watched the last 30 seconds of countdown, and the ball hit the bottom, and then we were subjected to this unwelcome image.
Under any other circumstances we wouldn't have had that channel on; the tsunami of unwelcome images that today comprises broadcast and cable TV channels is not something we want in our lives.
We learned our lesson tonight, you can be sure of that: EVEN 5 MINUTES IS TOO MUCH.
“We watched the last 30 seconds of countdown, and the ball hit the bottom, and then we were subjected to this unwelcome image. “
LOL !
Watch even 30 seconds of network TV per year, and one still can’t get away from it.
Don’t even give them 30 seconds !
That was exactly my thinking. I tuned into youtube and clicked the NYC stream which ABC was highest on the list to watch the ball drop. So glad I cut the cord 5 years ago but it doesn't matter, they slip it in every chance they get
Indeed!
