I’m not worried about it….
Wish it would hurry it up.
Hunter Biden?
Power distribution grids have overcurrent protection at many levels.
This is the biggest bunch of Horse Hockey I’ve ever read.
While the electric grid is fragile in places currently (no pun intended) there is no reason to believe it will remain so.
All military electrical systems are hardened already and they would provide enough power to get things back up and running.
We need a sun tax.
That might kill a lot of people, perhaps even most people, but it wouldn’t kill everybody. Humans were around long before anyone used electricity.
Of course, it might be that the entire population of reproductive age would die without their cell phones, so there’s that.
What a lot of fantasizing by scribbling idiots. People make systems work. While there might be a major disruption recovery wouldn’t take more than six months.
There are a thousand more likely scenarios than the coming ice age (1970s), global warming (1980s), and the catch all which can never be wrong climate change (2010s) being man made and destroying our climate.
The sun can heat up or cool off. The later has occured in history with devastating consequences: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maunder_Minimum
The earth magnetic poles can flip, the magnetic field protecting us can be compromised, stripping away the atmosphere: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_reversal
Or we can get blasted by a meteorite which ends life as we know it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_crater
The idea that some plastic shopping bag is going to end our existence is self important junk. But like Covid, or a plethora of other faux science issues, it gives politicians something to latch onto, to show action, to show what great leaders in crisis these folks are.
I would put my bet on that when the day comes, it’ll blind side us and be something entirely non man made.
Women and minorities will be the most adversely affected.
Well, more like six YEARS, but yes, humanity WOULD survive.
Stick to the rivers. I’m more worried about fires tonight with all the fireworks. Glad my house is metal.
texas used to be isolated from the rest of the US electric grid for exactly this kind of reason. But I think a decade or so ago California forced Texas to connect so they could take power they needed.
I’m gonna go with total BS on this one.
Except after the EBT system goes down, even if you aren’t killed by the feral herds,, there might not be much left to recover.
“The world began to end on 12th May 2024”
No, that date is November 5th 2024 if Biden steals the election again.
Exactly. There are many of us with the skills to manage.
And mostly we're conservatives who live fairly safely away from cities, which will quickly self-destruct in a catastrophe.
