Washington State and Oregons State have signed on with the West Coast Conference for basketball next year. Geographically it’s a good move for all. Adds two more teams to compete with the Zags and St Mary’s.

The most destructive critter concerning forests.
I have seen them destroy vasts amounts of timber and plug prime trout streams up rendering them useless for trout spawning.
They’ll enjoy watching these things destroy every bush, tree or whatever. They have to chew, why? Because their teeth grow like your finger nails and if they dont chew and wear the teeth down, they grow together and starve.
Once you have beavers, cougars will follow.

They’re just looking for a better life. Those people in Arizona are obviously Species-ists. These poor downtrodden animals are just there to do the work Arizona rodents won’t do.

Scottsdale High School opened in September 1923. The new school was located on the north side of Indian School Road on land previously owned by Scottsdale businessman and rancher Charles Miller, who also served on the Scottsdale School Board. Fifty students were enrolled for the 1923-24 school year. Mr. DuRoss was the high school's first principal. The school's sports teams were nicknamed the Scottsdale Beavers (beavers actually lived in nearby irrigation canals). As Scottsdale grew, so did the school, with many facilities and out buildings added throughout its 60 years of operation. The school closed at the end of the 1982-1983 school year and was torn down in 1991-92 to make way for downtown commercial development.

Depends on whether basketball or football is to be the driving force.
Only one of the conferences can buy into the reverse merger.
I think that conferences matter more for football than for basketball as far as meaningful playoffs go.
Every conference and its dog gets into March Madness. If there are only 12 slots and the SEC and Big 10 have a death grip on 8 of them, having a semi-credible conference is going to matter. In the long term, assuming the ACC is going down, there will be a pecking order of the SEC, the Big 10 as a close, or a little distant, second, the Big 12 as a distinct 3rd, with fourth up for grabs. If the Mountain west can rebrand as the PAC-number to be determined-—it should be able to steal a march on everyone else and have a reasonable shot at one of the byes, assuming the 12 team format is able to stick around longer than the ACC.
This may, inadvertently, end up with a result similar to the old-time Indiana high school basketball tournament foremat.
