Everything I learned in 2023 as the Climate Coach
The Washington Post via MSN ^ | December 26, 2023 | Story by Michael J. Coren

Against the enormity of climate change, it’s easy to see individual efforts as futile.

But tiny acts add up.

Not only do we profoundly influence friends and family, our actions and example act as billboards advertising social norms. We have the power to change what’s “normal.” Just look at why your neighbors install solar panels.

Based on the response to this column over the past year, millions of you want to do more in your own life about climate change.

Here are seven things I discovered in 2023 that can make a difference in your new year.

Lentils are the most underrated protein.

I once underestimated lentils and the rest of the legume family. Who among us hasn’t pushed away a bowl of mushy brown lentils?

But I was wrong.

Pre-rinsing dishes is pointless.

No more prewashing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher: Scraping is good enough for almost every mess.

Bar shampoo is better.

This year, I swapped out most of my products for concentrates, powders and tablets. I now use a bar shampoo and conditioner.

Bidets beat toilet paper any day.

The bidet remains mysterious to many Americans. But billions of people around the world can attest to the superiority of spritzing your bum over wadding up bits of paper.

Your sweater can be forever.

Now I can expect my clothes to last (almost) forever.

One of the best things you can do for nature is pay attention to it.

Bug zappers don’t work. At all.

You going to influence China into giving up their new coal powered plants?

Otherwise all your “tiny acts” are less than pissing in the wind.

This is the kind of nugatory nonsense we used to hear from earnest hippies back in the first Earth Day era.

One more thing the author could learn - to mind his own freaking business and leave the rest of us alone.

Liberal suicide works best. Killing themselves eliminates all ecological consequences and feeds the worms.

Mine too.

As evidence I can offer up all the dead flys in my bug zapper, and in the box I had to put under it to catch all the overflow.

Those are hundreds or thousands of bugs not in my face as I’m working in my shop.

I’d call that “working”.

The problem isn’t whether or not Mikey obviously believes these things, it’s that, being a good little Leftist, if given a chance he would convert his opinions into myriad laws and regulations that all must follow lest the non-believers (non-agree-ers, actually) face fines or a loss of liberty.

And then there's algore...a guy who owns a 35,000 sq ft mansion in Tennessee...an oceanfront mansion in Kalfornia...and flies private jets to “Global Warming” conferences worldwide.

There’s an article from a couple of years ago saying that algore’s Tennessee mansion uses 20,000 kWh of power a month. My condo averages 200-300 kWh per month (depending on the season). That means that I use about 1% as much power per month as does algore.

Plus the Gores were cited for straight-piping the runoff from a zinc mining operation they were operating on their property straight into the Tennessee river.

Climate coach? Journalists struggle to understand the third grade "volcano" project. Up your very math and physics Obamahole, simpleton. You write for a low grade publication precisely because you and real science are not friends.
