Re ...how important it is to pass our faith, patriotism, and knowledge:
I thought I did pass them on, but I was mistaken. Now the “what if I’d done that differently” keeps me awake at night.
Don’t spend your time wondering what you should have done differently. We can’t change the past, only what we do going forward. We’ve had some hard things come up in our family over the years. I realized I couldn’t change the situations. My thoughts were that God already knew these things would happen, and he wasn’t as concerned with the situation as he was in our RESPONSE to those situations.
I found out over the holidays that one of our kids and family had gotten boos***s. My heart breaks. But I believe in the sovereignty of God. I can’t change anything for them. But I find peace most days in knowing that God allowed this in their lives for a reason. I pray for his protection over their bodies. And I love them. That’s all I can do for now. They are his to work his will. I hope this may encourage you, as I know how you feel about your children and grands.
Knowing the love you have for your family, I don’t have the slightest doubt you did all you could to pass faith, patriotism and knowledge to your family. You can only pass it on. Others have to receive AND accept it. Keep praying and sleep knowing it rests with your family and God.
I hear you, girl. Right there with you.
