A pair of British and American tourists are facing up to two years in prison after they were arrested for allegedly attacking nail salon staff in Bali, Indonesia.
The women, identified by local media as Andrea CW, 37, from London, UK, and Chansler A, 37, from New York, US, reportedly assaulted staff of the Ombre Nail Salon in Kerobokan over a misunderstanding about payment.
The backpackers allegedly did not have enough money to pay the fees for an extra treatment they asked for and became angry when the staff tried to charge them for the service.
Shocking CCTV footage shows Chansler in a bucket hat appearing to grab a clerk by the collar and pulling her over the counter as the employee shouted 'you have to pay!'
Chansler is pushed back and crashes into a table before a furious Andrea appears and steps in, screaming at the member of staff: 'Relax, I am trying to give you the money! Relax yourself, understand?!
'Let me tell you something. I am trying to be reasonable. I asked you several times to let me outside. I ran outside to get money. You don't know what I'm going outside for? Why were you trying to hold me hostage?'
The manager of Ombre Nails Studio said: 'These customers came and asked for treatment in our studio and they were informed about the prices and everything, but at the end they refused to pay the amounts.
'They blackmailed us that if we kept asking them to pay, they will leave a bad review, and they started to verbally abuse our staff.
'All proof was recorded and is being handled by our lawyer, and we submitted a report to police last night.

When in Rome......
I think even Brittney Yevette Griner might agree with that.
Bali can keep them!
No, no, no, no, no. She’s not American, she’s AFRICAN-American. You don’t get to drop the prefix when a crime is involved.
First, people of the entitlement class (E/C) expect to get things for free. In the salon, the women were told what the price was and they agreed. When it was time to pay they tried to convince the salon workers to let them go to the ATM. As anyone who has posted here knows, they would have gone out and laughed about scamming the salon.
Next, if getting it for free doesn't work, then try to get it for a reduced price. The salon workers weren't going to fall for that either.
And then, physical force is used. If they can't get it for free, or get the price reduced, the E/C will resort to physical intimidation. In the United States, the E/C will react violently when they are not pleased, and they will get little punishment for it.
The two women might have gotten some consideration had they waited for the police and made the excuse that they thought they had enough money, and would like someone to accompany them to an ATM to get the right amount. Maybe that would have worked. But the E/C doesn't think like that. When the one woman resorted to physical force, that sealed the deal on their immediate future. I hope they do every last day of their sentence.
That being said, someone from either the British Government or the U.S. Government will rush to kiss ass and plead for their release.
I know all this, why lecture me.
And I thought Malaysia still uses the cane, a perfect solution to inhibit ugly tourists.
“Malaysian government officials regularly use caning to tear into the flesh of prisoners. The caning can travel up to 160 kilometers per hour, shred the victim’s skin, pulp the fatty tissue, and leave permanent scars”
But no, I am reminded of the ugly natives not far enough from my position. And moving closed every day.
It was a fun thought while it lasted...
I didn’t intend to lecture. I was just sharing conversation.
👍
I would pay to watch if they get caned. Popcorn and beer!
Yep - she pulled the same stuff.
