In his defense I will offer that the title was ambiguous enough that if one read just the headline they might not realize what his role was exactly. I too thought he might have been fired because of the ruling by the court, as a result of reading the headline. It wasn't until I read the first 2 paragraphs that I realized what had actually transpired.

Even I have been guilty of doing that exact same faux-pas. 🙂

Agree, the headlines often give a false or misleading impression and are at odds with the contents of the article. Modern journalism.
